Healing After Baby

If you have any disturbing problems that have arisen from birthing – it may be that life help is needed. Not medical help.

Women have been having babies forever
Nature sets us up to win.
When we interfere with the instinctive processes that would/will allow you to bounce back – we find the entire domino effect happening.

Nature expects mum to be still the bridge to the world – breast feeding follows as the immunological and well as the nutritional, plus all the soothing of the hormonal and life enhancing extras that mums breasts provide – when she is well fed, happy and supported.

For easy breastfeeding see this site – https://easybreasts.heatherbrucehealing.com/

Moving further away from a midwifery model of care, and towards medicalising life processes – it may have cost you.

To be reading this – you may now be well aware.
Often the resilience as part of the hormonal package that natural instinctive birthing allows is missing.

HELP AT HAND!!!

I designed the ‘What Dads Can Do’ manual and videos to assist those pregnant and seeking to help themselves – not to ‘hope for the best’ – not only leading up to birth – but afterwards – please consult your manual!

I then added in Welcome Baby kit.
And is ecstatic that she has found – the Amina wrap.
Please invest in an easy future – and a happy present . .

'Banking' yourself

The more of a retreat from the world initially, the easier your going back into life becomes.

Why?

There are a few times in a woman’s life when she has the opportunity to remake herself.
Whilst pregnant and breastfeeding is one of these.
Or . . .
She can really mess with herself – for the rest of her life.
This is up to you.

Blood energy

What it nourishes – all of you and your baby – and makes your breast milk!!!

Having lost a lot of it in birthing may set you right back

Now is the time to replenish your inner bank account

Ideally. .
After baby comes mum returns gradually to being more of the self she remembers.
Though it may feel as though it takes years… Allowing the right things to happen when they should – follow nature….
Healing . .
Acceptance

Change
Other cultures have many respectful customs. The older women share these.
They form the basis for healing. – and the vast gulf now that was self and is now being a mother.

Rest being a large part of this – regardless of blood loss or how arduous the labour.

Ideally new mum is not up and mobile and busy. She is busy just being stationary – as her body has to ungrow the uterus and shed all the extra as well as turning itself into a blood making machine (milk is blood) plus rest and get used to being totally on someone else’s schedule – changeable at that.

  • In the bed a week
  • On the bed a week
  • Around the bed a week
  • and in the house still the next week ..  .

Very gradually
First here is the body.
most cultures have mum looked after for at least a month – often many more.
The body needs time to heal and to undo the now empty baby nest.

The best place to do this is where she is in privacy so she can sleep and rest and recover herself – with her newborn.

Ideally slipping into a daze of love. . and resting when bub de sa d sufe-acing in the first few weeks to check briefly on the world – and to go deep within her cave again – with baby.

Mammalian  – someone else feeding her and looking after the house and occupants.
Sound like a dream?
Please make it so for yourself.
There are a few books that can really help you with this

As modern mothers are pushed to prematurely “bounce back” after delivering their babies, and are often left alone to face the physical and emotional challenges of this radically new chapter of their lives, these books stand as a lifeline—a source of connection, nourishment, and guidance. It is the perfect ally for the first few weeks with a new baby…and beyond.

And of course – ask your grandmother and her mother – and listen up.
They were not out with bub – but at home.
Baby needs to get gradually used to being outside your body.
Your body needs to get acquainted with life again..

When we allow for this rest and regeneration

Regardless of how amazing and energetic we feel – we reap these rewards later .

Need someone to looks after mum - whilst she looks after bub

According to Chinese medicine traditions, the four to six week period following birth is known as the Golden Month. This is a common practice that is seen in similar forms in many traditions and cultures the world over. For example, the ‘cuarenta’ in Latin America, the ’40 days’ in India, Russia, Greece and many African countries… and in China itself, the zuo yue zi, or ‘sitting the month’.

During this time, a new mother is not expected to do anything more than rest, feed and bond with her baby. It is seen as a time for her to replenish and recover. It’s also a period of celebration for the whole family… and Mama – not just baby – forms the centre of this. New mothers are given special care, food and support until they feel recovered. For some women, this will be four weeks, for others, it will be six, and others twelve… it depends on the needs of each woman.

The first forty days after the birth of a child is an essential and fleeting period of rest and recovery for the new mother. Author Heng Ou (along with her co-authors and fellow mothers, Amely Greeven and Marisa Belger) channeled her own experience with zuo yuezi, a set period of postpartum “confinement,” in which a woman remains at home focusing on healing and bonding with her baby, into the The First Forty Days, a book that revives the lost art of caring for a mother after birth. The book includes 60 simple and delicious recipes for healing soups; replenishing meals and snacks; and calming and lactation-boosting teas, all formulated to support the unique needs of the new mother (and to feed hungry partners, too). In addition to the recipes, this warm and encouraging guide offers advice on securing help during the postpartum period, navigating inevitable relationship challenges, and honoring the rite of passage that is pregnancy and birth.

As a Newborn Mother your heart is wide open, you are sensitive, you are brand new. You are being invited to re-invent yourself because when a baby is born so is a mother.

You have in your hands a tool that will help you seize this rare opportunity, this golden month, and avoid feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

Food is more than fuel for our bodies – it nourishes us on an emotional and spiritual level. These Ayurvedic recipes are designed to be cooked for you, not by you. These are foods that will heal your mind, body and soul after childbirth.

Beyond food - there is so much caring and tending...

This may include many aspects of the home culture – and likely a selection of more than these.

Look at my life recipe – what might you be missing?

  • Breathing well – as your body can participate in living well.
  • Hydration (especially at least 3 litres of non chilled pure water daily – add another 2 of fluids when breastfeeding at least)
  • Safety – do you feel this? Trusting your body to heal is part of the surround sound of help you need at this time).
  • Outside – when it is warm – sit in the sun. Fresh clean air.
  • Touch – all that pre baby work- still needed to undo all the extra that your body is doing – touching/being with hub has a toll as does all the sitting to feed.
  • Reason for being – your new lived one. If this is filled with emotions other than wonder – please reach out and clear why (see vibrational essences below) Also this may be of great assistance . NEED TO ADD IN MY MEDITATION FREE.
  • Nourishment – three aspects – 0f your soul your heart and your body – we covered the food in mouth above.

Healing tools...

  • Rest
  • Comfort and safety.
  • Individualised care and attention
None of this is medical – all is life ad naturally provided in a tribal situation when the older women looked after the younger ones – as a rite of passage often a ‘closing of the bones ceremony  when mum and new bub were up to going outside.
  • Think of being in a natural environment – baby would be sleeping with you. You wouls be feeding him/her on demand
You would be kept close to the centre of things to ensure your own safety – let us go for there –
  • Baby was designed as an appendage of you . Whilst your bits are healing – even if you were perfectly intact after birthing – your weakened body does not need the gym.  Does not need you off walking. Does not need you trying to lose weight – the baby weight will come off when your body is healed.
  • Start loving yourself so much more – and be aware that you can come out of this process far healthier/happier than you entered. Take the time to be with your new bub and life and let the old one go. This may involve tears. You are now a mum.
Maybe journey/diaries what this means and have a conversation with yourself. Get a routine of self care going.
  • Take the time out to meditate – the free tracks here allow the physical release and the shedding of tears and past hurts.

Helpers

I have discovered many resources in the decades I have been supporting women (and being a new mum 4x myself).

I was very grateful when i discovered Kaliana of Rose Raphael.
These are her magic remedies working on every dimension.

Vibrational essences – invaluable when we get caught up in our heads . . .

Healing Birth

The 20 vibrational essences in this combination have been chosen because their properties assist in the transforming, healing and clearing of energy blockages or beliefs that occurred due to trauma from birth. There are many degrees of birth trauma: for example caesarean birth, forceps, cord around neck, cord being cut too soon, separation from mother, not being treated with sensitivity and respect, discordant sound vibrations. The purpose of this essence combination is also to support an awareness of wholeness and connection to our own being in Divinity. This combination can also be of assistance to any adults or children who still hold unresolved birth trauma.

Nurturing Protection

The 26 vibrational essences in this combination have been chosen because their properties assist in strengthening the auric field through a connection to Divine Source. The baby is supported to integrate being on earth whilst still nurtured by Spirit, through a conscious connection to the Higher Self.

The purpose of this combination is – to provide psychic protection for the sensitive soul of the newborn whilst adjusting to being “out in the world” – to balance the life force so that the baby can draw nourishment from both Mother Earth and the Higher Dimensions to sustain the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. This combination can also be taken by adults and children to bring in a connection to, and remembrance of, their Divine origin and blueprint, reminding them that they are one with, and rest eternally in, the heart of God.

Healing  transformational Release

A combination of 21 vibrational essences to bring comfort, and healing resolution for unresolved emotional issues from Caesarian and disempowered birth. To optimise the effect of this essence it is important to consciously express and release unresolved emotions and limiting beliefs. This can also be assisted by: Journaling – clearing birth – telling your story in order to contact, identify and understand your feelings.

Trauma - unresolved feelings - stuck

Anxiety – what lies under that?
Generally nutrients missing in the quantities needed.
Blood energy is what keeps us sleeping and sane.
Even if you are not breastfeeding – please follow what I have here.
It can help stunningly.

What IS normal?

Take time to heal.
All of the measure each culture had in place – women’s business – allowed this to happen in its own time.
The Welcome Baby kit contains many of the tools you need to assist you.
Also watch the belly binding information and source immediately your own cloth to do this daily.
It will amaze you!
Do not force this. We all heal.
My own diatasis (muscle separation) above the navel was four finger widths – and is now (24 years later – and has been forever it feels – completely gap free – I did nothing but live to resolve this – I do work every day with my body with people  – I do not sit all day . .)
