COMMITTING TO THE ‘REAL’ JOURNEY

Why do we want
to open the
baby gate?

To make your life easy – as well as birthing, having an open pelvis allows for easy periods, fun sex and a greater likelyhood of making babies simply at home if this has been your stumbling block to date.

What happens in late pregnancy, labour, birthing and immediately after set the scene for parenting, and definitely breastfeeding. Mum’s ligaments and their ability to loosen, her ability to grow a well pregnancy and baby, (whilst being well and ‘ripening’ normally into bursting forth bub) is dependent on her health and her flexibility. The ingredients she has to make new life, and the circulation of these and waste products may need a bit of an adjustment.

When her baby gate (pelvis and tailbone) are somewhat shut, or locked in a wrong spot, due to  past incidents accidents and possibly mis/underuse of the body, birth and even conceiving may be tough. Her pelvis is a magic piece of engineering – geared to let a baby go. What may block this? Age is not so much the issue – flexibility may be. (See story next – there is nothing ‘unexplained about 4 of 4 breeches – babies feel more comfy there – we need to change how it is. . ).

Common sense – we need the gate open!  Just as many other culture’s traditional midwives did – you may need someone who knows pelvic fluidity and uterine positioning and how to correct these and their triggers gently.

Baby can have a  smooth transition into mum’s arms. As painlessly as possible with a minimum of fuss. You will find out how and have access to this yourself – here. It sounds too easy – it is – and often gets written off as being unlikely.

Can we take out an insurance plan? Yes – open the Baby Gate ..

Mum’s pelvis is the gate out. Let us see how we can open hers easily – so in the words of Josi below – ‘you were right – baby just fell out.’

Penny'S STORY

From her first horrendous hyperemsis pregnancy (hospitalised – so many times) birthing was seen as being too much for her (breech) resulting in a C section. Over the next 20 years she has birthed 9 more children so far. After the 6th, she sought out my help as the pregnancy pelvic and back pain was crippling – and she knew it would continue. After an easier 7th pregnancy, she had her next ultra surprise – the moxa and massage from ‘What Dads Can Do’ and the magnesium supplementation meant her usual 2-3 day labour, with 2-3 hours pushing out an unengaged baby was no more. Baby 7 was a dream! 3-4 hours in labour, wondering what that was between her legs – (she was in a birth pool) she reached down, gave a wee push and out he shot! Mum was in shock as it was so simple .. Baby #8- 2 hours. Baby #9 – 18 minutes. Baby #10 – 1 hour . .

What made the change? Dad at home – working on opening her baby gate. .

BEKKA SPEAKS

‘Finding ourselves unexpectedly pregnant all we used as a guide (plus seeing Heather) was her book (What Dad’s Can Do).

As our  pregnancy progressed, and B day got closer I found whenever I had a concern – like 2am in the morning – I  would go to these words of wisdom. I would NOT be told not to worry and see my doctor in the morning – but what to do and how and why what was happening had.

Although having the resources to go fully private – we knew we wanted a low tech, easy outcome and made this happen.

WHERE CAN YOU START?

Pregnant

Whether you are pregnant and seeking to improve your experience, prepare for easy birthing and maternity, or wonder what you can do whilst pregnant to improve your own health and wellbeing whilst growing bub – this is your space.

Simple as that.
Body warning.
Please do not ignore it.
Find out why the pain is there, and fix it.
Easiest steps – gentle movement and touch therapy.
Warmth. Loving touch the QI and lymph moving – here are the answers .

Towards Birthing

Just as when building a garden, a house or in this case, a life . .
Only the best available will do.

In pregnancy you get to make choices another person lives with forever after.
Problems? Fix them now. As the pregnancy has been – so may the birth and breastfeeding be. Even at this stage – you can totally re-script what is to come.

Baby is where the structure dictates is simplest to be. This matters. Not just head down . . breech resolution is step one – step two is next.
Breech/lateral may be the only way baby can be there – as nature does know best.
Mum’s comfort, baby’s safety even in birthing – all depend on getting the flows and structures correctly lined up, so ease of exit is possible.

A flower on a bush, or an apple on a tree is ready when it is ready. There are always ones ripe before and after the rest of the pack. Ovens in every kitchen have different variables. We adapt the expectations from the recipe (a rough gauge only) to this. Same with pregnant bellies and their babies.

Birthing - a new mum and baby

What happens in birth carries on forever. Imprinted in all levels of mum and baby and their lives separately and together. Returning to the intention of being pregnant – loving life, we need to insure for an easy pregnancy thus likely an easy birth.  Look after mum. Ensure she is supported with abundance of the nutrients (and rest) and structural integrity – and all else follows. Birth grace – acceptance of the animal rawness nature of the process give mum and bub the foundation for a loving easy life. We can improve the likelihood of this transition for both by working towards it a gentle opening – out into the world, and into mum’s arms.

Birth is the most significant time in anyone’s life. A mum and baby who are totally present, falling deeply in love is the idea for safety for both of them. Womb dependence is gone. In the transition – immediately after birth – baby is busy still shutting down old systems and settling into own body independence. This can be enhanced by being born easily. As nature intended. This way primal bonding is enhanced by the surge of natural protective instinctive mammalian hormones for both of them.

after baby

Breastfeeding

A continuation of pregnancy – baby is made – baby is now tended and cared for by mum’s body still. Her body provides food, water, protection, love and comfort – plus hormones and even stem cells – all adjusted minute to minute – and always at the right temperature.

Healing After Birth

Women remember this primal time of pregnancy and birthing and what follows – forever – maybe the story within you is still in the forefront?
Recuperation. Repair. Regeneration. Rest. Also the restoration of who you are after the 40 day ‘time out’ to celebrate your new lover.
If we do not have this – we may be less able to bounce back.

Baby spacing

You may wonder if opening the baby gate also means also helping start a family. YES. The pelvic bowl is home to new life. Working with the moxa and massage and loving touch, you and your partner may feel so much more connected. Take the time to heal and to build a great nest – within each other’s bodies. Using the nightly rituals of loving each other differently, you will feel more attuned to life flows. Allow this contentment to spill over into your lives – and all of that you may then create.
